Key Responsibilities as vice chair

  • Support the Chair in leading the Board of Trustees.
  • Chair board meetings in the Chair's absence.
  • Help set the strategic direction and priorities of BABY-I.
  • Ensure board decisions are recorded, acted upon, investigated and followed up.
  • Help set the strategic direction and priorities of BABY-I

HEAD OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING (Programme)

  • Design training and educational materials on infant abandonment prevention
  • Deliver training to professionals, communities, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee research that supports BABY-I's mission and objectives.
  • Report to the board on programme progress, quality, and impact.
  • Ensure all training content aligns with safeguarding standards and best practice

 ROLE PURPOSE

BABY-I is "An initiative for infant dignity and identity through the prevention of abandonment."

To serve as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and lead the design, development, and delivery of BABY-I's education and training programmes. In the first three months, priority will be given to establishing governing documents, training frameworks, and operational foundations.


  • AS TRUSTEE (Legal Duty) 
  • • Ensure BABY-I acts within its charitable objects. 
  • • Exercise reasonable care and skill in all decisions. 
  • • Protect BABY-I's reputation, assets, and beneficiaries. 
  • • Ensure compliance with charity law, safeguarding, and data protection requirements.
  •  • Declare any conflicts of interest promptly and abstain from related discussions where appropriate.
  •  • Maintain confidentiality of board discussions and sensitive organisational information.

TIME COMMITMENT & SUPPORT 

• Minimum commitment: 5 hours per month 

• Expected commitment: up to 15 hours per month

• Board meetings: Monthly (dates agreed collectively) 

• Support available: Chair, fellow trustees, and shared resources
